Converted Flash Presentation

This presentation is a document of the clothing and textiles produced by my company Visual Professional, Inc., a hand printed clothing manufacturer from the early 90's. The work shown is best described from the Introduction:

Visual Professional, Inc. was established in 1987 as an extension of my work in the book arts. Though the company was mostly known as a wholesale women's apparel manufacturer, my design focus had always been the hand printed fabric used to make the clothes. The print design and how it rendered on a particular fabric was inseparably linked to the technical foibles of hand printing. If I can describe anything about the prints shown here, it would be that countless trials and lucky guesses fearlessly put ink to fabric, with the hopes of producing an aesthetically enjoyable artifact.

Visual Professional produced up to six seasonal lines a year for shipment to boutiques, specialty stores and craft galleries. Incorporating my style of hand printed fabric into fashion oriented silhouettes had primary appeal to art and craft buyers. Each print was designed in two dimensions, scaled and composed to be cut into pieces and then reconstructed. The reconstruction into a garment that would display the print in three dimensions became the print's final composition.
